Many people know that obesity is the cause of many chronic diseases; however, did you know that obesity is closely related to prostate cancer?
Medical studies have found that obese people (with a Body Mass Index of 30 or above) with prostate cancer were 20% to 30% more likely to die of the disease, in comparison to their non-obese counterparts (with a Body Mass Index between 18.5 and 24.99). Moreover, obese prostate cancer patients who undergo and successfully complete treatment are more likely to relapse than non-obese patients.
Although you may not have prostate cancer, be smart: adopt a healthy lifestyle and keep obesity at bay!
