If you think you have gonorrhea, you need to be examined by a doctor. Gonorrhea can be diagnosed by a swab collected from the urethra, anus, throat, cervix (for women), or through a urine sample. In addition, persons with whom you have had sexual intercourse should also be tested for the disease.

Treatment
It is important for the persons infected with gonorrhea to take all prescribed medications; otherwise the infection may not be completely eliminated. Sexual partners who could potentially have been infected should be treated simultaneously. If not, you risk being infected again.
You should avoid all sexual intercourse during the treatment period, until you and your partner(s) have finished all prescribed medication and treatment procedures, as well as received confirmation that you can resume sexual activities. To ensure that the gonorrhea infection has been completely eliminated, you should once again consult your doctor or clinic for a checkup.
Since gonorrhea is a serious disease that can affect your entire body, it must be thoroughly treated. Do not treat yourself, as it may harm your own health and that of your sexual partner(s).
